About Mommy Makeovers

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a procedure that uses either saline or silicone breast implants to enhance the size, shape, symmetry, and fullness of the breasts. Personal Consultation

Dr. Lo personalizes each mommy makeover according to your goals, which means you will need to attend a personal consultation before proceeding with your procedure. During your visit, he will converse openly with you about several topics. He will ask you about your medical history, including your medication intake and any allergies you possess. He will ask you about your areas of concern as well as your ideal aesthetic. He will also perform a physical evaluation to assess your existing anatomy and skin quality.

Preparation

Once you have scheduled your mommy makeover, Dr. Lo will give you a full set of pre-operative instructions to help you prepare. These instructions will vary, but you can expect him to instruct you to:

  • Discontinue using blood-thinning medications and supplements
  • Arrange transportation home after your procedure
  • Have a trusted friend or relative stay with you for the first 24 to 48 hours of your recovery
  • Prepare to take time away from your career, as well as your social and personal commitments
  • Pick up any medications that you will need throughout your recovery
  • Cease the consumption of any nicotine and alcohol in the weeks before your procedure

Procedure

Dr. Lo performs each procedure on an outpatient basis at his surgical center. Upon your arrival, he will meet with you one last time to answer any remaining questions. He will then cleanse your skin before you receive general anesthesia. Dr. Lo will place several incisions around your figure in discreet, easily concealable locations. He will then perform each of your desired corrections. Once he has completed each one, he will suture your incisions shut and allow you to rest in his recovery suite.

Recovery

After a brief rest, Dr. Lo will release you home to continue your recovery. During this time, you can expect to experience some swelling, bruising, and general discomfort around the treated areas. We recommend that you manage them using prescribed pain medications and take plenty of time to rest. Depending on the type of procedures you received, Dr. Lo may also have you wear a supportive bra or compression garment to minimize any further swelling.

You may return to most of your routine after resting for several weeks. However, you will need to continue avoiding any strenuous activities for another few weeks, or until Dr. Lo has directed you otherwise.

Dr. Lo and his team will provide you with a set of written post-operative instructions when meeting with you in person. By following each one, you can return to your routine safely and ensure that the best possible results develop.

Results

You will be able to experience the results of your procedure once you have fully recovered.
